Christmas this year is cooked.
Logan is fucked. As Christmas rolls around she has two bombs to deal with. Her mother and her best friend. The play follows Logan, who is strong willed, independent, in control........in control? Jean, her hard not to love best friend. And Mum the self proclaimed 'Fun Mum!'. Cooked is a play about the fracturing of relationships. Logan’s world is tested when her mum, her rock, starts to come home late, disappear, act 'off'. She looks to her best friend Jean for support, however a new boyfriend, the kind that you have a ‘funny feeling about’, begins to test their friendship. Full of 'cunt', vaping, Tn's, Kookai, 'woo woo energy', these women navigate their flaws, insecurities, judgements and some hard truths about each other. Christmas is fucked but..... maybe New Years will be better? |

How it came to be
We had just performed in Maryland, by Lucy Kirkwood, and in a long break between semesters at UOW. Most of our days were spent down at North Gong beach sharing stories of how cruel men are to their girlfriends. It was frustrating to hear these wonderful women, explain how mistreated they were and then nothing would change. We started writing the play based on this experience, and finished our first draft within three months.
It was a story that felt very considered and authentic, after a few development readings with friends, they assured us they felt the same. Every woman knows a woman with a fuck wit boyfriend, husband or partner. It is because of this, the story has been crafted in collaboration with our friends and family. Through lengthy conversations, late-night chats and google surveys, this play has become so truthful and special to us.
In 2025, we took on Sydney Fringe, with a successful season and a shortened 40 minute version. This year in 2026! We are excited to debut the full length play in the KXT Underground space!!!
